CARES Act Information for Contractors

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was passed by Congress with overwhelming bipartisan support and signed into law by President Trump on March 27, 2020.  The relief package will provide over $2 trillion in economic relief and delivers on the Trump Administration’s commitment to protecting the American people from the public health and economic impacts of COVID-19.

The CARES Act provides fast and direct economic assistance for American workers, families, and small businesses, and preserves jobs for our American industries.

ACIT has prepared an overview of the CARES Act specifically for industry contractors and employers that are looking for financial assistance for themselves or their employees as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CARES Act Information for Contractors provides an overview of HR-related provisions of the Act, implications for existing contractor compensation & benefits programs, and options considered as a response to the pandemic.  The overview also provides Texas specific information and links to access state unemployment assistance.
