A.D. CYPHERS SAFETY PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR AWARD
The Occupational Safety Committee’s A.D. Cyphers Safety Professional of the Year award was created in honor of AD Cyphers, one of the most dedicated and active chairman of the Occupational Safety Committee. He increased the recognition of the committee within TCC and was the catalyst for improving the “Safety Seminar” so we could be proud of our product. The design of the award reflects A.D.’s long association with and affection for the Texas Rangers. This recognition is determined by industry peers who participate on the TCC Occupational Safety Committee. Although only one person is being recognized everyone nominated was a winner. This year’s nominees were:
Bob Brennecke, BASF Corporation
Maria Gallegos, Texas Brine
Steve Greco, Lubrizol
Lee Haring, Lubrizol
Dewey Miles, Rohm and Haas
Ed Tyler, Albemarle Catalyst Company
Dave Womack, Bayer MaterialScience

This year’s winner is Lee Haring, The Lubrizol Corporation

GERALD R. EHRMAN AWARD FOR LEADERSHIP IN SAFETY MANAGEMENT AWARD
Two years ago, the Occupational Safety Committee established an award to recognize a special plant manager who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in Safety Management. The first recipient of this award was Jerry Ehrman of DuPont, who retired in 2007.Jerry served as Chairman of TCC from 2004 – 2005 and as chairman of the Occupational Safety Committee from 1998 to his retirement in 2007.Jerry was extremely dedicated to TCC, ACIT and the Occupational Safety Committee, and was a strong supporter of the EHS Seminar. The committee decided that this award would be named in Jerry’s honor as the “Gerald R. Ehrman Award for Management” and would only be given to a plant manager who embodies the same leadership and dedication in Safety Management that Mr. Ehrman exhibited throughout his many years of service to TCC.

This year the recipient is John Harvey, III, INEOS Olefins and Polymers, USA, Chocolate Bayou

We’d like to thank all the TCC and ACIT members that were involved in making this year’s EHS Seminar a huge success. As always, the seminar committee members were hard-working and dedicated under the leadership of this year’s EHS Seminar Committee Chairman Lee Haring of Lubrizol.
